Thank you for your interest in fulfilling your community service with Colorado Pet Pantry. We offer community service through shifts at our pet food pantries or warehouse. We have acquired some truly wonderful individuals through this program. Please take a look at our policies below, learn how to get started, and reach out with any questions you may have.

Community Service Policies

  • We are not able to take community service volunteers with an infraction including a felony, violence or assault, theft of any type, and harm to animals.
  • We do not permit youth volunteers to perform court ordered community service with Colorado Pet Pantry.
  • It is required that you submit your paperwork to Colorado Pet Pantry before you can sign up for shifts.
  • Please bring your official timesheet to be signed after every shift.
  • Please be on time for volunteer shifts and work the whole shift.
  • Time spent not working (on phone, sitting/resting) will not be included in recorded hours.
  • If you need to cancel, please do as soon as possible so that we can try to fill the role.
  • Cancelling late (within 2 days before shift) multiple times, especially without communicating with us as to the reason, will result in termination of future volunteer shifts.
  • Be respectful to Colorado Pet Pantry staff, volunteers and clients at all times.
  • Follow instructions of team leads while onsite so that the work is as efficient and effective as possible.

Getting Started

  • You will begin by submitting your application through our online Duplie portal.
  • Be sure to select Yes if you are performing community service through the courts. This will trigger a notification to the correct Colorado Pet Pantry staff member to approve your application and follow up for the necessary documentation.
  • Once you submit your application online, please send your Service Agreement and Timesheet to volunteer@coloradopetpantry.org. Once our staff member approves your paperwork, they will approve your application to volunteer and you will have the ability to sign up for shifts.
  • The best way to bank hours is in our warehouse and this is an essential role for our organization, so we truly appreciate your hard work.
  • Any questions you may have can be directed to volunteer@coloradopetpantry.org and a staff member will respond shortly.
